SleepPoseIn short
- SleepPose has no account. You don't give us your name, email or any other details to use it.
- Your recordings, snoring audio clips and sleep data stay on your phone and watch. We can't see them, and they're not included in Android's cloud backup.
- Only if you agree, the app sends anonymous usage statistics to help us improve it. They never include recordings, audio, positions or health data. You can turn them off at any time in Settings. Without your agreement, the app doesn't use the internet at all.
- SleepPose is not a medical device.

What stays on your devices
To work, the app stores the following in its private storage on your phone and, for watch recordings, on your watch until the recording has been copied to your phone. Other apps can't read this storage, and we never receive it.

This data is excluded from Android's cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer, so it isn't copied to Google Drive or to a new phone. You can delete recordings and audio clips in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored.
Microphone
The microphone is used only while SleepPose is listening for snoring, which you start yourself and which shows a notification. Sound is analysed on the phone by an on-device model. Only short clips around possible snoring are saved, on the phone. Audio is never uploaded. The microphone may also pick up other people or sounds in the room.
Connection between phone and watch
The phone and watch exchange recordings and commands through Google Play services on your devices. Google Play services decides how to deliver them, which can include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or Google's servers when the devices aren't connected directly. This is covered by Google's privacy policy. We don't receive this data.
Health Connect
With your permission, SleepPose reads sleep sessions and sleep stages from Health Connect. It doesn't write anything to Health Connect and doesn't read any other type of health data. Sleep data is used only to show it next to your recordings in the app. It stays on your phone, is never sent to us or anyone else, and is never used for advertising. You can withdraw access at any time in Health Connect's settings.
SleepPose's use of information received from Health Connect follows the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
What the app sends: anonymous usage statistics, only if you agree
To understand which features are used and what to improve, the app can send anonymous usage statistics to PostHog, hosted in the EU. It only does so if you agree.
What is sent
- A random installation ID created by the app. It isn't linked to your name, email, phone number, Google account or advertising ID. It changes if you reinstall the app, or turn statistics off and on again.
- The app version, Android version, device manufacturer and model, screen size and language.
- Usage events: opening the app, opening a screen, finishing the introduction, and starting or stopping a recording or snoring-only listening, with the device used (watch or phone), whether snoring detection was on, and the listening time you chose.
What is never sent
- Recordings, positions, motion data, snoring results or audio.
- Sleep or other data from Health Connect.
- Notes, labels or anything else you enter.
- Your location, mobile network or time zone. The app asks PostHog not to work out a location from your internet address, and we have set PostHog not to store that address.
Your choice
The app asks you at the end of its introduction, and you can change your answer at any time in Settings › Privacy. Until you agree, the app makes no internet connection at all. When you turn statistics off, the app stops sending and deletes its installation ID and any statistics not yet sent; if you turn them on again later, it starts with a new ID.
We keep usage statistics for 12 months. Our legal basis is your consent. PostHog processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
Purchases
If you buy something in the app, Google Play handles the payment. We receive confirmation of the purchase (such as the product and an order number) so the app can unlock it, but never your payment details. Google's privacy policy applies to the payment.
This website
sleeppose.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party fonts or scripts. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security, for a short period.
Children
SleepPose isn't meant for children under 16, and mustn't be used to monitor babies or children.
Your rights
Data on your devices is under your control: you can view and delete it in the app, and uninstalling removes it. For the usage statistics, you can ask us for access, correction or deletion. Because they're anonymous, we'll need the installation ID shown in the app's Settings to find them. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects what the app sends, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
